When is Onam celebrated?

Onam is celebrated in the Malayalam month of Chingam, in the August-September season, with the main day called Thiruvonam.

How do you wish someone a happy Onam?

Say “Happy Onam!” in English or “Onashamsakal” in Malayalam, which translates to Happy Onam.

What do you write in a Onam card?

Write “Onashamsakal! Wishing you joy, prosperity and a delicious Onasadya with family” to keep it warm and festive.
